FOCUS
Corina is committed to improving health disparities and social determinants of health in underserved populations, notably Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders (NHPIs), through education, community outreach, and advocacy. Her current work explores the barriers to accessing and utilizing disaggregated health data in NHPIs in California, which will allow community organizations to seek funding and resources, educate stakeholders on NHPI social determinants of health, and inform policy and decision-making with accurate sources of data. The lessons learned from this research will be informative for other marginalized populations to adapt this approach and address health data issues they experience.
